Durena Burns is an author currently living in Southern California. She writes narrative nonfiction, African American fiction, historical fiction, contemporary, science fiction, suspense, and a bit of mystery. Having an active imagination since she was a small child, Burns has loved putting together that imagination through writing stories. Her book Call Me Whitehead is about her late great uncle’s experiences as a black man during the Vietnam War through her perspective. Burns has also contributed her short stories to Writing Bloc’s Escape! and Family anthologies.
